Our Lady Notre Dame 4-15-19

A day where someone will ask, “Where were you when ?” There are only a few of those kinds of days in one’s life.  The burning of Norte Dame was one of those days. I have been fortunate enough to have walked in that space twice in my life. The first time I visited the cathedral I lit a candle for my father, the second I had just eaten a warm crepe before waiting in a long line with my daughter. For all its size, the interior was close and warm, a place to experience solo. The black and white floors may have been hard, but they felt worn and soft. The cathedral will be made anew, but I am glad that I have these memories until I can return. I plan to return.
